Remember, your well-being is of utmost importance. If you are in crisis, please seek help immediately.

To better safeguard the well-being of our valued clients, PIPS has introduced an updated policy regarding the prescription of benzodiazepine medications, including well-known names such as Xanax, Ativan, and Klonopin. These medications will now be prescribed only in exceptional circumstances, and when they are, it will be strictly for a limited duration. This adjustment is a proactive step to address the concerning issue of substance abuse in our society, given the significant risks associated with benzodiazepines, especially when combined with alcohol or opioid pain relievers. It is essential to note that benzodiazepines have been linked to potential dangers such as accidental overdoses, as well as their potential to interfere with PTSD treatment and contribute to the development of certain dementias.
